Introduction and Application
The WLS Series Shaftless Screw Conveyor is mainly used for conveying sludge, screenings, and semi-fluid materials and is widely applied in the water treatment industry. It can be integrated with mechanical screens or sludge dewatering equipment, enabling automated process operation.
It is also suitable for solid material conveying in other industrial applications.
Working Principle
Screenings or sludge enter the conveyor through the inlet. Driven by a geared motor, the shaftless screw rotates and continuously pushes the material toward the outlet, where it is discharged, completing the conveying process.
Model Meaning
WLS-260
WLS means shaftless screw conveyor.
260 means the blade diameter.
Specification
Blade Dia mm | Screw Flight Pitch mm | Convey Capacity m³/h | Speed m/min | Power kW | |
WLS260 | 260 | 240 | 6 | 16 | 1.1-2.2 |
WLS300 | 300 | 280 | 8 | 16 | 1.5-3 |
WLS400 | 400 | 380 | 15 | 12 | 2.2-3 |
Main Structure
The conveyor mainly consists of a drive unit, head section, casing, shaftless screw, trough liners, inlet, outlet, optional cover, and base frame.
1. Drive Unit: Equipped with a cycloidal pinwheel reducer or a shaft-mounted hard-tooth gearbox. The drive unit is preferably installed at the discharge end so that the screw operates under tensile load.
2. Head Section: Fitted with a thrust bearing to absorb axial forces generated during material conveying.
3. Casing: U-shaped or tubular (O-type) casing with an optional weatherproof cover. Materials available include stainless steel, carbon steel, or FRP.
4. Shaftless Screw: Manufactured from stainless steel or carbon steel, suitable for conveying sticky and fibrous materials.
5. Trough Liner: Made of plastic, rubber, or cast stone, providing wear resistance and extended service life.
6. Inlet & Outlet: Available in square or round designs, selectable according to user requirements.

Key Features
l Shaftless screw design ensures smooth conveying without clogging, especially for sludge and fibrous materials.
l Direct drive connection between motor and screw, eliminating the need for couplings.
l U-shaped enclosed trough, with only the inlet and outlet open, reducing leakage and odor.
l Reinforced casing, cover, and inlet hopper provide long service life and structural strength.
l No intermediate bearings inside the trough, ensuring stable operation and low maintenance.
